This group includes the likes of Secrets, Dreams and Zoetry Resorts, just to name a few. We had the distinct pleasure of staying at the Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf Resort & Spa this year. Read on to find out why this resort should be on your radar for your next Mexico vacation.
Dreams Playa Mujeres ~ A Great Location
The Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf Resort & Spa is located just a short 19 miles ~ 35 minutes, depending on traffic ~ from the Cancun International Airport.
Its close proximity to the Cancun International Airport makes this a perfect year-round family destination. A quick, climate-controlled comfortable shuttle ride from the airport to the resort will have you playing on the beach in no time!
Also, if you choose to visit downtown Cancun for a day of shopping, restaurants, to enjoy other beaches in the hotel zone, or to catch the ferry to Isla Mujeres, the Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf Resort & Spa is only 7.6 miles from that area.
Dreams Playa Mujeres is situated on the north-eastern end of the Yucatan Peninsula, just north of the downtown Cancun hotel area. This resort is positioned inside a gated community so we always feel safe while staying at this resort.
The Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf Resort & Spa is located directly adjacent to its sister adults-only all-inclusive hotel, the Secrets Playa Mujeres Resort. Guests at the Dreams Playa Mujeres may use the amenities of Secrets Playa Mujeres property, provided they are 18+. Having access to the Secrets Playa Mujeres spa, restaurants and pools definitely elevated the level of luxury we experienced while visiting. It was a definite win-win to stay here!

While staying at the Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf Resort & Spa, guests have their pick of any type of pool their heart desires!
Main Pool at Dreams Playa Mujeres
The main pool area at the Dreams Playa Mujeres is a sprawling water complex that starts in one area towards the main lobby and winds all the way down towards the beach.
The main pool area is comprised of several sections – all of them are great to enjoy!
- Zero-entry pool area for the littles.
- Grotto waterfall and bar area in the middle pool section where one can read a book, grab a favorite cocktail and just listen to the water fall. (*Heaven*)
- The main pool area where the fun music is pumpin,’ pool games, and the pool bar caters to those wanting to have fun!
Family Pool Water Park With Waterslides
Directly outside our balcony is the zero-entry family pool area, complete with waterslides and a super fun kids play area.
This is a great area where the whole family can enjoy playing in the water for the day!
Lazy River Pool
One of my favorite types of pools to enjoy is a lazy river style pool!
I mean is there anything better than laying on a floatie while basking in the sun with a delicious, island-inspired cocktail?
No. The answer is no!
This lazy river is so fun and is located directly behind the main lobby area, near the villas of the Dreams Playa Mujeres. It’s a perfect place to enjoy slightly different scenery while floating along, basking in the sun…

Playa Mujeres Beach ~ Dreams Playa Mujeres
The wide stretch of white, pure sugar sand in front of the Dreams Playa Mujeres rivals beaches all across the world.
This beach area is extremely wide and very long. It kind of reminds me of South Beach in Miami! It’s complete with the most beautiful white sand. Playa Mujeres seems to go on for miles and miles and one can definitely enjoy a full day of walking the beach and feel completely safe.
This newer beach resort area was not originally intended towards tourism and remains a much quieter option – and much more luxurious, in my opinion – than the downtown Cancun area or even Riviera Maya.
When on vacation, I enjoy the quieter areas more directed towards luxury. If you do too, this is definitely the area of the Yucatan that will speak to YOU!

The Dreams Playa Mujeres offers a room with a view in every type of room category. There is literally a room for everybody and every type of travel situation!
Upon arrival we were immediately upgraded to a Junior Suite Ocean View on the top floor of the main building – it is an amazing view from the top!
Each room comes complete with beds and a separate sofa area, dresser, flat screen tv, marble bathroom with zero entry walk-in shower, separate toilet area, mini bar, mini fridge and a room service entry door, which is a super cool feature! You can receive your room service through a little door on the wall of your room and when done, place the dirty dishes there so the staff can take them away!

Wow, I knew Dreams properties had to be a multi-site luxury. In February 2018, my husband and I stayed at Dreams Tulum and deemed it our favorite resort ever! We stayed on property seven days and only left part of one day to visit the Mayan Beach Ruins in town and a chicle plantation to swim in a cenote. The Pevonia spa was amazing there as well.
I just love resorts that allow taking advantage of amenities in a sister location, too.
