Luxury at the Loews Minneapolis

Location

One of the main criteria when searching for vacation accommodations is location, location, location! The hotel has to be located where I can easily walk or catch a cab to the venues I will be visiting. Vacation is not the time to hassle with inconvenient locations in the middle of nowhere! Loews Minneapolis Hotel is located on 1st Avenue North, directly across from the Target Center and immediately adjacent to many of the area’s hottest restaurants, bars, shopping and clubs. Its convenient location makes it easy to walk to whatever venue fits your fancy or allows for a quick Uber or Lyft ride to your favorite spot!

Luxury & Style

As soon as I arrived at the entrance of the Loews, I knew it was going to be a weekend and some incredible accommodations to remember!

The modern, yet sophisticated and cozy styling of the hotel exudes comfort and warmth, which is something we desire come fall, winter and spring in Minnesota! I love walking into spaces that provide rich color palettes that are easy on the eyes, but saturated and timeless. Whomever designed the spaces at the Loews Minneapolis must have been inside my head when they did. Rich navy drapes and gold plus gorgeous accents in taupes and grays…all exceptionally easy on the eyes, and soothing to the senses.

Apothecary Bar + Lounge

One of the things I enjoyed most about the Loews Minneapolis is that there are many areas to catch a quick cocktail and enjoy a private conversation within the hotel. It was not difficult to find a treasured corner to indulge in a little quiet reading time.

The Apothecary Bar + Lounge area was just the space for this! The extra large screen tv surrounded by the coziest couches always had something interesting playing on it. The Apothecary lounge with oversized chairs and couches tucked around the corner from the busy part of the main floor was the perfect place for me to sneak away and enjoy a little “me” time during our stay. I drank my morning coffee and read a magazine quietly here each day. It was fantastic!

Guest Rooms

When acquiring accommodations for our gal-pal getaway, we wanted to make sure there was enough sleeping space and room to sprawl out for each of us! The Loews Minneapolis guest rooms are set up so well. I love the full-length mirror across from the bathroom, immediately as you walk into the room! And the back lighting of that mirror is helpful.

The spacious bed area with two double beds, a nightstand, full dresser with mini bar and individual Keurig machine is exactly what our gal-pal weekend needed. We need coffee immediately in the morning!

I really enjoyed the spacious desk and lamp they provide as well. I brought my computer along for the weekend so it was a great space to sprawl out.

We also really appreciated the comfy corner chair, sofa lamp and the extra large window ledge area! The ledge is so big and those big windows facing the Minneapolis skyline are exactly what the doctor ordered during the dreary November weekend! The large windows, light linens and wall color really help to flood the guest rooms with natural light to keep everything feeling vibrant and fresh.

Cosmos + Relevé

The luxury at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel does not stop at the guest rooms and common spaces. We found one of our favorite spots to enjoy a wonderful breakfast is Cosmos Restaurant and Relevé Champagne bar for a quick cocktail before heading out for the night!

Cosmos Restaurant

I’m unsure where to even start here! From the moment we entered the space on the 4th floor, we were greeted with the kindest and most helpful Loews staff. They were all so friendly and accommodating.

We began the morning with breakfast (more like a brunch by the time we got down there). Their breakfast menu is exquisite. I love that they source many of their products locally. From the Wisconsin cheeses, to the midwestern meats, local breads and more. When I travel, I always try to seek out venues that support other local venues. We are all in this together, right?!

Honestly, everything looked so good that it was difficult to choose what to eat for breakfast! And, that was probably my most difficult decision to make over the weekend…it was a nice change of pace. I went with the Cosmos signature breakfast sandwich made with locally sourced chicken wild rice sausage and Wisconsin cheddar cheese and Tea Forte lemongrass ginger tea. The entree is served with fresh fruit and a selection of sides. I went with the black quinoa with sauteed peppers–it was divine!

Relevé

Initially, what caught my eye is the modern pash decor! Wow. This space is so easy on the eyes! The lighting is perfect, the plush burgundy chairs are super cozy and the bar itself is really pretty. And, if you want to enjoy some natural light, you can always select a chair over by their floor to ceiling windows that flood the space with natural lighting. It is gorgeous!

If you’re a wine or bubbly lover like we are, then the Relevé Champagne Bar is the best place in town for you to grab a glass! They offer quite an impressive selection in glass pours, small bottles and even magnums! And, if wine or bubbly isn’t your thing, let Relevé’s mixologist design a craft cocktail to fit your exact desires.

Don’t forget to pair one of their small plates to your perfectly crafted cocktail or wine–they are incredible, too! The new charcuterie boards on the menu feature products from their local Flavor by Loews Hotels partners The Herbivorous Butcher and Baker’s Field Flour & Bread. I have to admit, I am a carnivore at heart, but this charcuterie board is AMAZING! The flavors pair so well together!

Embury Spa

During gal-pal getaways, another important criteria for selecting accommodations is the ability to visit a spa that’s either in the hotel or very close in proximity.

As women who are all very busy, we love to indulge in spa services wherever we go. It helps us relax and unwind. Feel rejuvenated and recharge our batteries. After spa services, we can continue pressing on in whatever is next in our lives.

Enter—>The Embury Spa

I visited the Embury Spa on Sunday afternoon, at the very end of our trip. I wanted to end our fabulous gal-pal weekend with a BANG and feel super rejuvenated for the week ahead.

The Embury Spa exudes modern sophistication and luxury. I felt like I was teleported to a quiet space with ultra plush amenities…and it felt so good!

Minnesota River Rock Signature Spa Service

I chose the Minnesota River Rock body treatment as my spa service on Sunday. The Minnesota River Rock treatment is a signature treatment at the Embury Spa and I certainly understand why! It combines all the elements of relaxation and stress relief into one 80 minute treatment. Aromatherapy, Hot + Cold Stone massage, deep tissue work and a full body green mud wrap + steam at the end.

Could it get any better than this? No. The answer here is no, my friends.
